If you have ever been in a Motivation Slump and you don’t know why you’re not making money, THIS is the book for you. Jen has A PLETHORA of quotable excerpts that I still use to motivate me to this day. This book is actually what encouraged me to start the website for my business even though I have ZERO knowledge of website design or digital marketing…Jen really shows you how to change your mindset and stop allowing yourself to have such limiting beliefs. Here are some examples that I have pinned on my vision board for support:

“If you have a desire to make fifty thousand dollars, that money, and the way for you to make it, already exists”

“Surrender and have faith that when you bravely head into the unknown, the Universe has your back”

“You can’t make sure everything is perfect before starting. There’s a fine line between perfectionism and procrastination. Get the damn Website up, the business cards made, the headshots taken…”

“You can choose to be a victim to your circumstances or take responsibility for how you choose to perceive them.”

PRO TIP FROM THIS BOOK: Write a love letter to Money. “Notice the key, most emotional limiting beliefs that come up for you” (I WROTE A LOVE LETTER TO MONEY and it changed how I perceive money, and put me in the write mindset to aquire more money)

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker

Why do I love this book? It’s actually the FIRST book I ever read that had to do with making money on my entrepreneurial journey. It got me into the mindset of making money, and what it truly takes to become successful. You CANNOT stay in a “poor” mindset, and expect to be “rich.” The book is short and to the point, and shows why some people are destined to be rich and others are destined for a life of struggle. If you want to change your financial for the future, this book is a good place to start. (I now run a 6 figure business, so it may be worth the read). Some quotes that really stuck out to me:

“‘Action always beats inaction.’ Rich people get started”

“Rich people believe in themselves. They believe in their value and in their ability to deliver it”

“Either you are a person who will be stopped, or you are a person who won’t be stopped.”

“The more you learn, the more you earn…and you can take that to the bank!”

PRO TIP FROM THIS BOOK: “Any and I mean any, money you find or receive should be celebrated. Go ahead and scream out, ‘I’m a money magnet. Thank you, thank you, thank you.’ This goes for money you find on the ground, for money you get as gifts, for money you get as a paycheck, and for money you get from your business. . .If you keep declaring that you are a money magnet, and especially if you have the proof, the universe will simply say, ‘okay,’ and send you more.”

You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

Yet another great book by Jen Sincero that I used to identify my limiting beliefs that were stopping me from unlocking my full potential. If you’re like me, and you know that you were destined to do more with your life, than work a 9-5 job, this book is another important one to ready. If you have difficulty bridging the gap between starting the business, and becoming successful, this book has A LOT of important points. It gives a step by step guide on how to get rid of your old beliefs, and start living the life YOU WANT. Some important quotes:

“If you finally decide to quit your soul-crushing job and start the pastry shop of your dreams, be not upset if a truck drives through your front window into your scones. Instead of taking this as a sign that you shouldn’t have opened your shop, take it to mean that you’re ridding yourself of your BS and moving in the right direction.”

“Keep your thoughts directed at your goal, do everything that you DO know how to do to make it happen, decide with unwavering determination that it will happen, and be on the lookout for the opportunity.”

“Stay away from people with tiny minds and tiny thoughts and start hanging out with people who see limitless possibility as the reality.”

“If you want something badly enough and decide that you will get it, you will. You’ve done it before-you’ve lost the weight, gotten the job, bought the house, quit the nasty habit, gotten in shape, asked someone out….you just need to remember that you can do it with anything in your life”

PRO TIP FROM THIS BOOK: “If you want something badly, even if you don’t have any evidence that it’s possible for you to attain, believe it is anyway. Fake it until you make it. Do it in spite of yourself… Tell yourself it’s happening. Act like it’s happening. . . Stay wide open to opportunities that can lead you to your goal”

Jeffrey Gitomer’s Little Red Book of Selling

If you’re a business owner, then you’ve realized that you have to sell something. Whether it’s service based or produce based, you need to sell your business. My business and service based, and using this book, I learned a lot about the importance of personal branding, valuing relationships, and using creativity. What I like about this book, is that the important parts are highlighted in BRIGHT RED, so if you’re a speed reader, you can glance at the most important parts. It also keeps you engaged with little comics of people (as pictured below), Not to mention that it also has a ribbon to use as a bookmark.

Some important quotes:

“Personal branding is sales: It’s not who you know, it’s who knows you”

“Act professionally, talk friendly.”

“All creative people take risks. It’s the nature of the process. Daring to think something new or try something new.”

PRO TIP FROM THIS BOOK: “Invest your time in things that will help you succeed. How many hours a day do you spend in ‘non-success’ areas? Time wasters like TV re-runs, new for the second time today, or someone else’s drama. What could you achieve if you took half of that time and invested it in studying about your biggest business obstacle or biggest business opportunity? . . The choice is yours, and those who will pass you. Think you can stop watching so much TV.”

The Third Door by Alex Banayan

Let me just read you the first passage of the book, I think this gives you all the insight you need to see how pivotal this book is framing your money and business mindset:

“Life, business, success…it’s just like a nightclub. There are always three ways in. There’s the First Door; the main entrance, where the line curves around the block; where 99 percent of people wait around, hoping to get in. There’s the Second Door: the VIP entrance, where the billionaires, celebrities, and the people born into it slip through. But what no one tells you is that there is always, always…the Third Door. PRO TIP FROM THIS BOOK: Think about what you can do in your business (and life), to get through the '“third door’. “One path leads to a linear life, the other an exponential”

I personally looked at what else I could do to live the life that I want. Now I work when I want, and have the FREEDOM to do what I want any day of the week, while still living a life of abundance. There’s always a third door…

SIXTH SECRET BOOK: EARTH IS HIRING BY PETA KELLY

This book is very inspiring if you know you were meant to do more with your life, and make a difference on Earth. Hence the title, Earth is Hiring. Here are some of my favorite passes/quotes that got me inspired to do more with my business. If any of these resonate with you, I would highly highly recommend checking out this book. It’s kind of difficult to come by, but it made a difference in my life.

“Celebrate your freedom to fail. . . If you don’t hit your goal by the time you expected to, did you fail? No, you made progress toward your goal”

“These visions you see so clearly- the possibilities you see for our planet and for the people around you, the business of the future that’s already complete in your head- are visions that chose you. . . it finds a human it trusts, and shows itself to them. . . “Money Has Ears. . . Are you inviting it in or repelling it away? . . Just like other energy, it goes where it’s welcomed, and doesn’t go where it’s not. Depending on how we speak about money, it can feel invited and welcomed by us, or it can feel unwanted, blamed, ostracized.”

“Are you doing the absolute MOST with what you have? Or are you simply asking for more?”

PRO TIP FROM THIS BOOK: “How can you allow more abundance in your life by doing more with what you already have? Can you make your time/money go further and in the direction of consciousness? Can you be more intentional with what/how you invest your resources so they generate more epic s*** in the world? How can you become 10x more resourcesful with your time, money, and skills?”
